What a nice weekend I had. On Friday we went to Disneyland with Doug for the last time for awhile since his pass expired the next day. Doug usually doesn't go with us so its always a special day when he does go. The park was extremely crowded again but we had a nice time. Elijah was really happy because he finally got the red Light Saber he has been wanting for ages from there.
On Saturday I got to go to a woman's lunch at church and I got to sit at the table my friend Rebecca was hosting along with some other mommy friends from MOPS. The table was set so beautifully and we each received a nice gift. The food was good and we got to hear a preview of whats to come at the woman's retreat. Doug watched the kids so I got a little over 2 hours of time away, yay! Later that day I went to Lakeshore and found some new stuff for my classroom walls and a game to play about the 50 states. We played it yesterday and its perfect for Elijah's level and a fun way to learn about the states.
On Sunday we went to church in the morning and it was a good sermon. The pastor had us write down our sins and we put them in a paper shredder as symbol of how Christ takes our sin away. It was neat seeing and hearing the shredder get full. After church I was able to get caught up on some housework before my mom and grandma arrived to have dinner with us and go watch Elijah sing with his Wee Spirit choir group at church. We had carne asada which came out really good for dinner. Elijah did really good with his choir performance, I was proud of him. It was a big change over last year which was quite embarrassing. Last year he only actually bothered to sing 1 out of 6 songs. The rest of the time he either had his finger up his nose, or he was yawning loudly, or he was acting upset because the kid next to him bumped him. This is in front of the entire church mind you. So this year he sang all the songs and did most of the hand gestures that goes with the songs and was very enthusiastic. Best of all he didn't pick his nose, heehee. Its so nice to see your kids progressing.
Oooh! I forgot to mention the great find I made on Saturday. Someone down the street was having a moving sale so I decided to stop by and I was able to purchase a play kitchen with all the accessories for (drumroll***************) 50 cents! It needs to be cleaned up but has a lot of play left in it. Elijah has already done some "cooking and dishes". Fun!

I had carne asada for dinner Sunday too. It was the Grand Prix BBQ at our church for the Pioneer Club pinecar race. My boys didn't win any prizes. Taylor was really upset. Ryan was just happy to get his car back so he could start playing with it! I'm glad you had a nice weekend.
Joanna you crack me up with all your 'ramblings'!! I love great finds ~ we should go yard saleing some time ~ Tanner loves it too! Saturday was great ~ so glad we all got a little break from mommy-land!
