The world keeps turning

I haven't blogged much lately because I have been pretty busy. I've been babysitting everyday since Tuesday which is good because we really need the money. I'm still in search of an evening job.

Yesterday it was getting ready to rain and Elijah kept wanting to go outside and play. I kept telling him no its too cold outside and he would say, "I can't get cold I have a fire in my belly" Then he would go outside and the cold didn't seem to bother him. I have no idea where he got that from but he has been saying it repeatedly whenever I ask him if he is cold.

Its really getting interesting talking to him now at age 4. He was a little slow as a baby developing language skills nothing to worry about just not really good in that area. So now that he is talking more, and more and people are understanding him better its a lot of fun just listening to what he has to say. He comments on stories we are reading or stuff he is watching on TV. He classifies everyone as good or bad. The Dr. Seuss cartoon we were watching last night was about how people ruin the environment for progress and cut all the trees down. Elijah said, "Mommy those people are bad they are taking all those trees away." The other day a little boy his age called him up to talk. It was so cute. They talked for about 5-10 minutes about what they had been doing and he seemed so much older. Then Elijah invited him over to play. That's his big thing now, inviting his friends to his house to play. Its like a whole new developmental milestone. He has always been very friendly and outgoing but its always been up to me to ask other kid's moms if they want to get together for a play-date now its the kid's doing the asking and us moms just have to see if we want to comply or not. Its so weird. I thought he would be a lot older before he was talking on the phone and inviting kids over.

Daniel at 8 months is trying to grow up fast too. He is really close to fully crawling. He is using his arms to pull himself around some right now. He doesn't get too far but he can move to a nearby object and he can change directions that he is facing. I noticed him trying to use his legs some yesterday so I think it will be happening really soon. I still have some child-proofing to do so I need to get on that fast. Elijah was about 10 months before he was crawling well.

Its so interesting seeing how the kids grow and develop and change right before my eyes.

Joanna ~ how fun!! I love the age the age the boys are at right now ~ they are so honest & unfiltered! Last night I came out with a dress on and Tanner said ~ 'wow mom you look beautiful!'

Hope to get a call from Elijah for a playdate with Tanner soon! :)

They get so big so fast. Fourteen, nine, and six years have flown by so fast. We would love to meet you at the museum sometime, or anywhere else for that matter.
