Well here we are the day after Christmas. We had a really nice holiday. I can't believe its over already. Christmas Eve my parents, my grandma, and my nephew came over for dinner and to go to church with us and actually stayed the night and all day Christmas Day as well. It was fun finding room for everyone and having a full house. I enjoyed church on Christmas Eve and sharing it with my mom and my grandma. All the guys in the house fell asleep before the service though and missed it. That was kind of a bummer. I wish Elijah could have gone. Our church only had one service on Christmas Eve and it was at 11pm which is a very unfriendly time for the kids. I think I may actually fill out one of those comment cards and express my hope that a family friendly service will be added next Christmas Eve.
I feel like a culinary genius after yesterday. In the morning I whipped up a brunch omelet for the family and my dad commented on how fluffy it was. Then I made a Turducken for dinner which was quite a challenge. For those who may not know a Turducken is a Turkey stuffed with a duck which is stuffed with a chicken. I had to debone them which takes some finesse. I wasn't too sure about how it would come out but the men in the family have been wanting to try one for years so they finally got their wish and actually it turned out pretty good. I liked it!
My uncle and his son joined us all on Christmas day and we all had a nice day. We opened presents and spent the day putting together a jigsaw puzzle while listening to carols. It was nice. At the end of the day I asked Elijah which present he liked the best. He said he liked the play fishing rod that has a magnet with magnetic fish to catch the best. Thats funny because it was something I picked up on a whim at the 99 Cent store.
I hope everyone had a blessed holiday!
