Good News!
Well we finally got our taxes done. I had been putting it off because I was really afraid I would have to owe money this year since I cashed out a retirement plan. Well it turns out I was worrying for nothing because as the tax guy put it, "you grossly over paid" Yay!! Thank you to everyone that was praying for us, and praise God that this has turned out so much better than I expected! We are going to get to pay off our credit cards completely, and put a little in savings. We used a tax guy we have never gone to before and was recommended to us by some friends and I really liked him. I know all of you probably have your taxes done by now but just in case you don't I highly recommend this guy. He was very knowledgeable and friendly and very professional. He had a second computer screen facing us so we could see everything he was putting in the computer and he told us to come to him thoughout the year with any tax questions and he will help us out for free. If I decide to cash out the rest of my CalPers retirement he said to come to him and he may be able to file a form that will let me avoid paying a penalty and he told Doug to come back with his check stub and tell him how much of a return we want next year and he will tell him how much to change his witholding to at work so we can get more money each paycheck and get almost the exact amount of a return we want next tax season. I feel like for the first time we have our own tax guy. I've used a couple of tax services in years past and for the most part have filed the taxes on my own online but this was so much nicer and I feel so much more secure with using this guy and it was fast! I think we were done in 30-40 minutes. So if anyone wants a tax guy go to Gardner's Tax Service (909) 446-7051, his name is Andrew Gardner.
