School days

A few ladies in my homeschool group had the idea that we should form a small group to get the kids together and have a class together. So we have been making plans for this and its getting exciting. The amount of people interested is growing and so far we have decided we want to start in February and we will be meeting twice per month. We are going to separate the kids into a preschool group and into a K+ group but it will be mostly young kids. We are going to do an organized PE involving a team sport and we will do storytime, show and tell, an art project, and a science experiment. The moms will rotate being in charge of a subject so it should be a lot of fun. We are still looking for a place to meet. We are trying to get one of the local churches to give us some space for free. The kids will have to bring a bag with their supplies for the class so that should be fun for Elijah to have use of his backpack and be like a regular kid going to school.

Yesterday I was able to meet-up with my friend Rebecca and take her some things at her preschool class that she takes her son to. We hung around for a little while and Elijah got to participate with the class. It was really cute seeing him with the group and doing the song and dance kind of stuff. He also did a project where he worked on the letter "W" and was invited to do some other projects but he didn't want to do them. He seemed to like it there though. The preschool class is a little different because its kind of a co-op and the moms stay and help with the class. It was a neat experience for us.

Elijah got his haircut yesterday afternoon and he looks so cute. He was getting quite a mushroom head. He did really good sitting there and letting the stylist cut it. It wasn't that long ago that he wouldn't sit still for a haircut. He is really growing up. He is going to be 5 on Wednesday and we are doing his birthday party at a local pizza place. It sounds like he is going to have a lot of friends there so that's exciting and such a blessing. Elijah doesn't care much about getting presents he just wants to have friends to play with. I'm looking forward to him building more friendships as we get more involved in school type activities.

I hope everyone is well and has a great weekend!
