Today was an odd day. Doug was home today as it was his Friday off and although I have basically no voice due to this cough/sore throat we went out for lunch at Jose's which we haven't done in ages and it was good. We came home and I remembered we had a play date at the park scheduled for 1 pm and it was already 2 pm so I took the kids on the off chance that we would still find some of our friends there but no one was there. It has been raining here all week but we had a few hours of sunshine today. I didn't feel like going home so I decided to drive through Oak Glen and we found snow. We totally weren't dressed for it but I let Elijah run around in the snow and we had a little snow ball fight. It probably wasn't the smartest thing to do as we have been sick but I just hate for him to miss the opportunity to play in the snow. I also love doing spontaneous things. Then we found some other kids for Elijah to play with and they made snow men and had more snow ball fights. Elijah made a snow angel. I bought a gallon of apple cider to bring home so I have been drinking that hot and it has felt really good on my throat. It was a fun day. Oh yeah, I met a lovely lady in the parking lot at the the Cider Mill (note sarcasm). When I was trying to get the kids out of their car seats and out of the car my car door ever so lightly touched her passenger side mirror. So she jumped out of her car and rushed over talking about how I must of scraped her plastic. It was kind of comical to see this woman's reaction. There was absolutely nothing there which she acknowledged with a huff and so I just smiled and walked away. Whatever, we still had a very nice day.
Here are some pictures. They aren't the best as I was using my cell phone and juggling Daniel while taking them.

I really enjoyed reading about Oak Glen. The pictures are soooooo cute. I always loved it when my mom did spontaneous things too. Some of my best memories are when we would get up on a summer morning and she'd say "lets go to the beach" and off we would go. We also used to do that kind of thing on a weekend. My dad would say lets go to the mountains and off we'd go. I remember them saying it won't cost anything. Gas was so cheap they didn't even consider the price. I sure wish it could be that way now.
love,
mom
What a beautiful day!!! So nice that we live so close to snow and the pics turned out good, considering it was a phone cam.
