God is working things out as usual

I posted awhile back about how I was able to order a laptop through our charter school for Elijah and I was really excited about it. Well since I placed the order I have been spending a lot of time researching curriculum options for Elijah's first grade next year. I kept coming back to packaged curriculum choices and the one that Calvert produces. I felt like we had a few holes in what we have been doing this year especially with social studies and science and with the packaged curriculum I know they will get covered. The problem with choosing Calvert is that it costs almost $1000 after I add on the extras I want to get with it and I had already spent all that money on the laptop so I didn't have nearly that much available to order the curriculum now and would have to wait until the fall funds were available to order it and then would be starting the first grade year behind while we wait for our curriculum to arrive.

Well our laptop never came and I finally found out that the order had not been placed by the school like they said they did. So they were going to be re-placing the order. I was a little annoyed at first but then I figured hey this gives us the opportunity to order the Calvert curriculum now and we can wait to order a computer. So I placed my order for the Calvert Curriculum and I am so happy to have that done and know that we are pretty much all set for first grade. I was able to customize the order so we are getting 2nd grade math since that is Elijah's best subject. I was also able to order a science experiment kit that we can use to go further in depth with the science lessons. I am so excited! I have a couple of friends using this curriculum and swear by it. Here is a link to what we are ordering...

I figure I can add in a bible curriculum with my money, and we should still have funds available through the school to start Elijah in music lessons and sports next year. I am looking forward to getting a jumpstart on first grade by starting the curriculum in the Summer. So I am thanking God for orders not going through and his wisdom in knowing what we really need.

Now that is seeing the positive! I'm glad it worked out the way you wanted in the end. I hope you are happy with the Calvert package. Good luck as you move forward! Keep us all posted!
