Elijah didn't catch a fish but these 2 guys that were fishing next to us were catching them like crazy and throwing them back in so they ended up letting many of the kids reel in their fish and even let them keep them. The kids had a blast! I am so grateful to those 2 guys.
We also worked in a trip to Disneyland on Elijah's birthday. Disneyland is doing a new birthday promotion so if you register your birthday online with them you will get a pass to get in free on your birthday. Well we already have annual passes so instead of giving us our entrance for Elijah they gave us a gift card worth the price of a ticket to get in! $59!!! Its good for any merchandise and doesn't expire so Elijah got to pick out some Star Wars stuff he wanted and we still have $24 left on the card for future visits. Thats such a cool promotion!
We also had a fieldtrip to Cal Poly in Pomona. They have a thing there called Biotrek. You get to tour a building that they have grown a rainforest in complete with foggy mist and it rains on you! We also got to pet snakes, lizards, frogs, toads, turtles, tortoises, and an iguana. Then we got to go to a place where they have aquariums with various sea life. Lastly we visited an outdoor area where they have reconstructed a tribal area fashioned after the tribe that used to live in the area. The kids ground up acorns to make acorn flour which was pretty cool.
So in getting fit news I really haven't been doing well the past couple of weeks. I have exercised very little and haven't been careful with what I am choosing to eat. I am happy to report I am down 2 more pounds since my last blog so I have lost a total of 12 pounds. Of course I think a lot of the 2 pounds I lost is due to being sick. I am also sad to report I have gotten behind in bible study. I have a plan to get back on track with my bible study. I am going to do 2 days of my homework each day and then I will be back on track in time for our next meeting. For my fitness goals I am going to start trying harder like I did when I first started. This is too important to let slide! Posting my goals and plans on this blog really helps me to stay accountable and get back on track. So I hope everyone is doing well!

I feel your pain!!! It is so hard when something throws you off a good track to get back on...but you will. You are doing great, and I agree posting it does help, 12 pounds is awesome!
Good luck and I can't wait to hear!
I'm glad the party went well and Disneyland blessed you with a extra special treat, that is awesome!
It happens to all of us. I think we start the year off great and then we slow down..but God totally allows "do overs" so keep up the good work..you looked great at the BioTrek!
Oh, and thanks for the info on D-land. I was wondering how they'd handle the annual pass thing with the birthday freebies
