Catching up

Ok Blog fans sorry I haven't posted anything this week. Its been a busy week and I have been sick. I lost my voice about 3 weeks ago and still haven't recovered and yesterday I actually got all achy, and feverish. I was up every hour or two last night because I kept feeling dehydrated so I would get up and drink some water then I would have to pee and it went that way all night. This morning I am feeling a bit better. I hate being sick.

Monday we finally got to go on our field trip to Amy's Farm in Ontario with the homeschool group. We were suppossed to do it last week but it was raining so the trip was cancelled. I was planning on posting pics from the fieldtrip but I don't feel like doing all the uploading now. It was a fun day. Elijah got to feed a calf with a bottle and he fed a pig and got to hold a baby bunny. There were tons of chickens and roosters running around. The roosters were all really colorful and pretty. There were horses, goats, sheep and lots and lots of cows. It is a calf ranch so they get the babies a day after they are born and keep them until they are ready to go to the nearby dairys. So we learned about caring for the cattle. Did you know that a cow is only called a cow after she has given birth? Before that she is a heffer. Babies are calves, and adult males are bulls.

Tuesday I got to babysit and Elijah got to play with his friends. I also got to vote. My friend Janice watched the kids while I voted so it was nice not having to haul them in there. Tuesday evening we had a big problem. Doug called at about 5:45 to discuss meeting us at bible study which starts at 6:30 and so when the phone range rang I moved from the back of the house where I was sorting laundry into the kitchen to get the phone and found a flood. The washing machine apparently decided it doesn't know when it is full of water so it was just continually filling with water and not shutting off when the appropriate water level was reached. I had about 2 inches of water on the floor and it was running out the front door. So as I am dealing with this Doug is on the phone and he asks if we should skip bible study to deal with the washer and I decided we defintely needed to go to bible study because I am sure the devil is messing with us and trying to prevent us from going to bible study. I haven't called a repair person yet because I am afraid of how much its going to cost.

Wednesday we had MOPS and I also took my extra breast pump to my friend Faith that is going to give birth any day now and taught her how to use it. I got to go to her baby shower last Saturday and it was really neat. Her friend made it a big tea party and everything was decorated so nice. They had a neat idea. They had a bunch of onesies in plain white and everyone at the party decorated one so she ended up with a lot of custom decorated onesies and many of them had really cute little sayings people wrote on them. I know Faith from our homeschool group and as we were talking we realized we had actually gone to high school together but she was a couple of years behind me so I think she was a sophmore when I was a senior. We didn't know each other because it was a big high school. Small world.

Thursday I mostly was just miserable sick but I did take Elijah to park day with the homeschool group for about an hour. I am in the midst of planning the Valentine's party and the plans are coming together well and I have two wonderful ladies helping me.

Today I need to go to the hall of records and get Daniel's birth certificate. Hopefully they will give it to me today because I need to go to social security and get his and Elijah's social security cards replaced. I have Elijah's number but I have no idea what Daniel's number is and I need them for taxes. I had both cards back in October when we went to the doctor and they needed to see them there. I have no idea what happened to them after that. I've been losing everything lately. I have no idea what happended to my Visa Check card. I last used it about a week ago now I can't find it anywhere so I had to call the bank and they cancelled it and are sending me a new one.

Tomorrow morning I get to quilting with a few friends from MOPS. My friend Sandy is teaching everyone how to quilt and there is a special type of quilt we are learning tomorrow but I may just work on a quilt I've been trying to finish for quite awhile now instead of starting the new project.

Its been fun this week watching Daniel. He is really good at pulling himself up now and is exploring everything. He is cruising a lot. I got a cute picture of him standing at the back door which is glass and looking out. This morning he spent a long time in Elijah's room going through the toy box and entertaining himself. That was nice.

I hope everyone is well and has a great weekend!

Oh Joanna, I sure hope you feel better. This dumb illness has been going around and I know it's SUCH a bummer. Hang in there and I hope that your flooding issue won't be too much. I will be praying for ya ~ Kin

So sorry you're sick! I hope you feel better soon. Did you see a Dr. about your voice? About the flooding...doesn't every bad thing happen when you're ill and don't feel like dealing with it? It seems like it. I'll pray for you too.

I hope you feel better soon. Personally I am still coughing up stuff every now and again. I hope the washing machine situation will work out. My refrigerator is leaking so I know how you feel. My blessing though is that we rent our house and the fridge was her when we moved in, so it is the landlord's responsibility.
Blessings,
