Well I am sitting here relaxing after having got the turkey in the oven to begin roasting. I am hoping the coffee finishes brewing soon and am listening to the rain falling outside. While waiting for my coffee I have some time to reflect. This Thanksgiving I am so grateful to God for some many things. For sending his Son to die for me, for the shelter and food I have on a daily basis, and especially for the joy of the relationships I have in my life. Being a wife, mother, aunt, friend, daughter, and grand-daughter brings me such joy on a daily basis even when times are frustrating. This year I feel like I have the biggest support network I've ever had. I've always had the personality of being comfortable with just 2 or 3 really close friends and that's it. Well I have gotten to know more of the moms from my homeschooling group better this year and moms from my MOTS group, and now I have the Yucaipa moms group as well. Yesterday I had the pleasure of waking up to a secret santa gift in my mailbox. We just started doing secret santa's with the Yucaipa moms group. I also feel like I have so many more connections and opportunities to really get to know people better through blogs and Facebook. I have connected with a lot more people from church and am getting to know them better since I found them on facebook. Using these modern tools has really opened me up to new friendships and just being a more social kind of person.
Time spent with the kids is a huge blessing to me. I am so grateful I am able to homeschool them. Just looking at this past week there have been so many silly times with the kids just being goofy and having fun. Those times are such a joy. I borrowed an idea after reading my friend Suzie D.'s blog last week. I put up a long piece of paper on the wall and had the kids write down on a daily basis what they are grateful for. So far this list is pretty long and I'm sure a lot will be added today. Its been so neat to see what they come up with. The first day Elijah put down, "hugs and kisses, and for my baby brother from mommy's tummy". Awwww! I'm sure today will be a good day spent with family and hopefully the food will come out good. I hope you all have a happy and safe Thanksgiving!!
By the way Daniel is still sick with the flu. He has had it since last Monday so its been a week and a half now. Its weird because he can go hours and hours without vomiting and then just when I think he is finally better he loses it. I have had him at the doctor but they say they can't do anything for him and it just needs to run its course. My poor baby has lost a lot of weight! So if you will please pray for him to get this out of his system and start eating normally I would really appreciate it.

On a lighter note, wow that turkey was in the oven early, what time are you eating? I am doing my first one on my own tomorrow and will now go research cooking times!
Hope you had a wonderful day today!
