Pleasant surprises

So I weighed in today and the past couple of days I have been feeling larger than ever and I didn't think the scale was going to be my friend today but I lost 2 pounds! So I am down a total of 9 pounds now. I also did my measurements and I don't know if I am doing them right but I think I lost 4.5 inches on my waist, a half inch on my hips, and 1.5 inches around my neck! I am guessing my initial waist measurement was wrong because that seems like a lot in 2 weeks.

Another pleasant surprise came yesterday when we had our meeting with Elijah's charter school Educational Specialist (ES). Our second semester funds became available last month and I had been trying to order a laptop computer with the funds as well as some curriculum. I had wanted to order a Dell computer but the school has to order everything on my behalf and I have to tell them item numbers and such. Well Dell doesn't have item numbers so I was going back and forth through email with the ES about the computer and figured we would have to work everything out at the meeting. Well when we started the meeting she told me she ordered the computer on Monday! She had figured out how to do it. So Yay! That only leaves with $200 in our budget and I had wanted to order next years curriculum but I know I won't be getting everything I need with just $200. I should be able to get some supplies or maybe a 1 or 2 materials we need though and then I'll have to wait for the next school year to order everything else. It will work out. I'm so glad to have this computer expense out of the way. I really wanted the computer not so much for this year of school, but I'm sure we will be using it more the next few years and now I don't have to worry about it coming out of budget in the next few years when I want to buy more expensive curriculum and send Elijah to extra curricular activities that the school will pay for. So things are coming along!

Joanna, yeah!! I'm so happy for you. It is nice to actually know that your hard work is paying off. Those are great results. Happy about the computer thing too. I think that's the way we are going to use our $$ next year. Are you with Sky Mt?

Melissa - Yes those are sparkpeople measurements. I've been using it to track my progress.

Beth - Yes we use Sky Mountain and I really like it. I heard you were going to homeschool Sarah. Obviously I think thats a good idea. We should chat about it tomorrow.
