I'm on my way

Well we are 1 week into the new year and so far I am making good on my goals and promises to myself. I weighed in today and have lost 7 pounds in my first week of getting healthy. I am feeling very confident that I will stick with it and can already feel a difference in my body. My muscles are a little sore from exercising but its a good feeling! I have been walking with friends several times and have been exercising at home as well. We have Time Warner cable and I discovered that "On Demand" has Exercise TV and I can watch workouts at anytime for free. There are a lot to choose from so I know I won't get bored with them anytime soon. So whenever Daniel goes to sleep I try to get in a workout. I have been doing the Jillian Michaels 30 Day Shred and its kicking my butt in a very good way!

I started the Beth Moore Bible study at church yesterday and I think its going to be really good. I have homework to do for it 5 days per week and am looking forward to it.

I let the people at MOTs know that I won't be returning for the next session. They were very understanding of course. I will still be seeing most of them around so I don't feel like its a major loss. We had a meeting today and I took healthy food so I didn't blow my food plan. I usually eat lots of good and fatty food when I am there.

Today at MOTs I was really blessed by seeing a DVD from another Beth Moore Bible study called, "Living Beyond Yourself." It focuses on the fruits of the spirit and the part we saw was about self-control. It came at such a perfect time and really spoke to me. Here are some of the notes I wrote down from it...

  • Thats enough for now
  • You are not your own
  • Honor God with your body
  • Fitness is a physical act of worship
Therefore, I urge you brothers, in view of God's mercy, to offer your bodies
as living sacrifices, holy and pleasing to God - this is your spritual act of
worship. Do not conform any longer to the pattern of this world, but be
transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test
and approve what God's will is-his good, pleasing, and perfect
will.
Romans 12:1-2 (NIV)

I am so very proud of you! For your exercise, diet, and especially your willingness to grow in the Lord.
A healthy body is a great thing, but a healthy relationship with your creator is immeasurable. Keep it up.

Congrats on the weight you've lost so far, that's awesome!
We are going over our 2nd Beth Moore study with our Church and they are amazing. Our first study was on the life of Dave - Awesome and our current study is based on the Fruit of the Spirit (galations 5:22).
Keep up the good work and I know you'll be so blessed by the study!
