Summer Fun

We have been sooo busy this summer with playdates, visiting with friends and family, and Elijah's karate. Everyday there is something on my calendar. Its crazy! Its a lot of fun too. Elijah and I are getting a nice tan. I recently joined a Yucaipa Moms meetup group so thats giving us a boost in extra activities. Yesterday we went to a pool party with my MOPS table and that was so nice, we were invited by another MOPS table. Elijah swam across the deep end of the pool by himself! Tonight I have a "Moms Night In" game night to go to, and Doug is going to watch the kids so I get to go kid free. I'm really looking forward to it. Tomorrow we are going to the water park at the Yucaipa Regional Park with the Yucaipa Moms group. Last week we went to the beach with my mom and had a great time. The weather was perfect not too hot, and not too cold. Daniel had a great time he is fearless in the water and he was a sand monster on the beach. He even ate some sand which I tried my best to not let him do but it was a losing battle. Elijah will be doing VBS all next week in the evening.

This past Sunday we had a nice day at church and were able to stay after for a special lunch honoring our pastor and his wife as they were celebrating 15 years serving our church. I was telling a friend there about how well Daniel has been doing since he started walking. He has been so careful and hasn't been falling all the time like Elijah did and getting bumps and scrapes. Well later that day I was bringing in groceries and Daniel was standing on our front step and instead of carefully backing himself off the step like he usually does he stepped off and fell flat on his face. Poor baby looks like he has road rash across his nose and cheek. It really looks awful and painful. I guess I spoke too soon about him being so careful. So now my loving new nickname for him is "skidmark", lol.

We are moving into another new stage with Daniel and its not one I have been looking forward too. He has started showing us a temper. He has been so mellow and laid back all the time its quite noticeable that he is already moving into the terrible twos at just 15 months. He can really scream when he wants to, and especially when I take away something he wants such as scissors, lol.

Oh yeah last week I was able to rearrange Elijah's room and move Daniel's bed in there. I am so happy with myself for figuring out how to fit everything in there because I was really worried that we would have to get bunkbeds right away in order to fit two beds in there, its such a small room. I don't want Elijah on a top bunk right now because he sleep walks sometimes when he wakes up to go potty and I could imagine all kinds of accidents. I converted the crib back into a toddler bed and raised it up some so Elijah has that bed back now and Daniel is using the toddler bed that Elijah had been using because it sits much lower to the ground. Daniel has been sleeping in there about half the night then he comes back into my bed to nurse-sleep. I am going to work on putting him back in his bed after he nurses.

So that's our summer update. I hope everyone is doing well!

Thanks for the update, I was missing your posts. So far the fever has at least cooperated by staying down yesterday while I got prepared for art class and today while I taught. Hopefully it will continue to do so.
Enjoy your summer!
