Happy Halloween!

Its been difficult finding time to Blog this week as we have been a lot more busy than usual. Monday we went to the Pumpkin Patch on a field trip with our homeschool group . It was fun and we learned a lot about growing pumpkins. I was amazed to learn that the different varieties of pumpkins all come from the same kind of seeds. The bees that pollinate determine what kind of pumpkins sprout up. They mix the pollens as they buzz around from pumpkin flower to pumpkin flower and sometimes even mix different kinds of squash with pumpkins. I found that very interesting. Someone also said that if all the bees were to die out on Earth it would mean the end of the human race. All Gods creatures are here for a reason and we are all so intricately woven and dependent on each other. It makes me marvel at the genius found in nature.

Later on Monday Elijah had his Wee Spirit Choir practice. Its a group of 3-5 year olds at church and they have been meeting since early September to learn Christmas carols for a performance at church in December. Elijah has been doing better this go round at learning the songs and behaving while with the group but this Monday he was not doing so good at trying to sing and was misbehaving. I had to threaten to take him out of there. So fun, ha!

Tuesday I had a bunch of housework to do and I was able to drive into Redlands to meet my friend Pat at Chick-fil-A for lunch. I used to work with Pat and I got to get caught up on all the goings on at my former workplace when I met with her. Its nice to see old friends. Elijah got to play in the little playground there and had a good time for the most part. There were about 4 times that he broke into tears for falling down or someone not being nice to him or whatever. He is very, very sensitive. I got a nice compliment on him though from one of the other moms there. She said he was so nice to her daughters and played so nicely. That was good to hear.

Later on Tuesday my mom and my grandma came over. They drive into Yucaipa to get their hair done. Mom brought more leaves that she cut out for me with a die cut machine at her school for our project. Yay! I then got to spend some time showing her how to email people. I set her up an email account with hotmail.

I had to call all the moms that signed up for food for the Harvest party and remind them on Tuesday as well. Its amazing how some people had to ask what park we were meeting at and what time. Its been announced about 100 times and has been in the newsletter three times. Oh well I guess its good I called them and it looks like we are going to have plenty of food. Then I had to start the cookie dough for all the cookies I need to make. A friend from our homeschool group is coming over today with her kids to help make the cookies. Elijah really likes her son Jacob. He is just a little younger than Elijah and so he is really excited that he is having friends over today. I made 3 and half batches of the cookie dough. The recipe says each batch makes 5 dozen cookies but I have never found the cookie recipies to actually make the amount they say they will. I probably make them too big. I am planning on 100 kids so I am hoping to get at least that amount of cookies made.

So we are planning to find time today to trick or treat with some friends on their street because no one trick or treats on our street for some reason. Last year no one came to our house and only two houses on our street had candy when we went out. Tonight our church has their annual harvest festival and Elijah always has a good time there so we are looking forward to that. Elijah is going to be Spiderman and Daniel is going to be Mickey Mouse. Ok well I need to get busy. I hope you all have a fun and safe Halloween!
